
Joe Novenson
2007 Honorary Alumnus of the Year
Lee University named Reverend
Joe Novenson of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church as the 2007 Honorary
Alumnus of the Year. For the last eight years, Novenson has been a popular and
frequent visitor to the Lee chapel pulpit. He brings a diverse background in
ministry to his current position at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, having
previously served as a writer, teaching assistant, college campus pastor, and
coffee house coordinator.
Before moving to Chattanooga
in 1996, Novenson worked at churches in Lexington, S.C., and Augusta, Ga. He
received his master’s of divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary
in his hometown of Philadelphia, Pa.
In Chattanooga, Novenson also
served North Shore Fellowship as its founding pastor and remains actively
involved in the ministry there. He serves on the board for Covenant Theological
Seminary and is a regular speaker at events around the country.
Novenson and his wife, Barb,
have three children: Matthew, Andrew, and Ellie. They also have one grandson,
Hans.
